Point Speech Pathology and Literacy Lab
Danielle Malkmus, MS, CCC-SLP
lead speech language pathologist
Meet Danielle, a mom of four and dedicated speech language pathologist who has worked in the field of Speech Language Pathology since 2008. During her time working in the field, Danielle has treated clients of all ages and abilities: from early intervention with children as young as 8 months old to adults in their nineties with severe swallowing disorders, but her passion lies in the pre-school and school aged population. Her areas of expertise are in severe speech sound disorders and early literacy development. When her son was diagnosed with Dyslexia, Danielle became Wilson certified and is motivated to ensure all children have access to specialized reading intervention in their schools. As a mom, Danielle understands that it can be scary when you think your child is not developing on track with their peers, but wants to let every parent reading this know that the first step is what you're doing right now, and that alone makes you a superstar mom or dad. When you reach out to Point Speech Pathology and Literacy Lab, you won't get a receptionist- you get Danielle, and she is committed to helping your child communicate clearly and confidently.
Danielle holds her Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, with a concentration in Speech Language Pathology, her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, carries the gold standard Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, a New Jersey Department of Education State Certification as a Speech Language Specialist, and holds a New Jersey State medical license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Her clinical specialties are in the area of severe phonological process disorders, early literacy skills and remediation of persistent oral habits (like thumb sucking).
